Volunteer Opportunities!
If you have good news…you are excited to share it! Natural family planning is healthy for women and couples, physically and spiritually! Please volunteer and assist your Northeast Ohio NFP organization to get the word out!
Role in Organization:
- Promotional materials point-of-contact for chapter interactions with a particular parish
- Reports to Coordinator of Parish Representatives
Responsibilities:
- Acts as liaison between the parish staff and CCL
- Promotes CCL NFP within the parish
- Ensures CCL materials visible in the parish (Live-the-Love, local brochure, NFP week poster)
- Ensures that clergy are aware of nearby upcoming CCL NFP classes
- Looks for opportunities for NFP witness, such as pre-cana, baptism classes, NFP info nights, arranges for couples to give witness if appropriate
Deliverables:
- Parish is aware of upcoming CCL classes and activities
- Distributes promotional materials in parish
- Maintains CCL presence at events such as parish activities day
Expected Time Commitment:
- 1 hour per month
Unique Skills:
- Not required to be a teaching couple
- Good organizer and communicator, personable, able to inspire others.
Role in Organization:
- Interfaces between our NEO-NFP and medical and health agencies and individuals
- Reports to Director of Outreach/Marketing
Responsibilities:
- Acts as a liaison between the medical/health community and CCL
- Identifies opportunities for promotional materials
- Including: OB/GYNs, Breastfeeding classes, childbirth classes, women’s health, women’s exercise classes, Gyms, Pro-Life groups, nutritionists.
Deliverables:
- Promotional materials distributed to medical/health outlets.
Expected Time Commitment:
- 5 hour per month
Unique Skills:
- Not required to be a teaching couple
- Good candidate would be outgoing/personable
Role in Organization:
- Provides professional NFP instruction and consultation, while providing a persuasive witness on the use of NFP as a way toward responsible parenthood.
Responsibilities:
- Teaches NFP and witness responsible parenthood.
- Teaches class in accordance with CCL policies and procedures.
- Accomplishes follow up with couples.
- Accomplishes annual certification requirements.
- Stays within the role of a Teaching Couple; avoid prescribing, diagnosing, providing medical advice or marriage counseling.
- Manages and plans schedules in coordination with Chapter Scheduling Coordinator through the OCR system.
- Actively participates in chapter in accordance with chapter procedures.
- Maintain awareness of CCL current events through Family Foundations, ENews, webinars, Volunteer Connections and other communiqués with CCL Central.
Deliverables:
- Teaches three series per year with goal of five couples per series (15 couples per year).
- Properly documents follow up, letter to priests, evaluate couples for further involvement.
- Accomplishes continuing education before end of calendar year.
- Schedules classes in OCR during the summer and fall preceding the next calendar year.
Expected Time Commitment:
- Teach three series per year (2 hours preparation + 3 hours teaching = 5 hours/month).
- Followup with 5 couples/month (2 hours/month).
- Accomplish continuing education (1-2 hours/month).
- Schedule classes in OCR (2 hours/year).
- Actively participate in chapter (minimum 1 meetings/year x2 hours/meeting).
- Participants in some NFP meetups per year as a means of supporting the NFP community.
There are many roles and opportunities in NEO-NFP, promoting the northeast Ohio chapter of CCL and other USCCB approved NFP providers. Only some of the available positions are listed above. The positions listed are those with a widespread need for a representative at the parish or medical facility level.
