We learned about NFP from our parish priest at our marriage prep classes. Although we didn’t understand fully the “why’s” of the Catholic Church’s teaching, we knew the “what”of its teaching, and we wanted to embrace those teachings in our marriage right from the start.
The best part of NFP is that it fosters mutual respect between husband and wife. The periodic abstinence required causes couples to long for each other and appreciate the gift they are to one another. It can be exciting! NFP couples realize that their fertility is a gift from God that may bring about the blessing of children, which is the supreme gift of marriage.
We found support from friends we met through the Couple to Couple League and the NEO NFP Meet Up Group.
